This is a lightened-up version of my Green Smoothie recipe for days when I am less active and don’t need as many calories. It’s still a great source of protein and healthy fats and tastes delicious. This is a recipe my kids actually love too! It’s a great way to sneak added nutrition into their diets. I doubt they would love it as much if they knew they were drinking spinach ;) I make a few substitutions in the kid's version of the smoothie, which I will share below. My girls love drinking their smoothies out of these cute and easy-to-wash containers.
I love alternating this smoothie and the green smoothie because seeds are such a great source of nutrition that a lot of people are missing in their diets. This way you are alternating two amazing superfoods throughout your week. Flax and chia seeds are also great in oatmeal, which we also eat a few times a week (sometimes I even have oatmeal for lunch!) I hope your family enjoys this healthy smoothie recipe as much as our family does. Enjoy!
Strawberry Chia Smoothie recipe
2 large handfuls spinach
5-6 frozen strawberries
1 container of Greek yogurt (I love Oikos Triple Zero strawberry because it’s high in protein and low in sugar)
2T chia seeds
1 cup original vanilla almond milk
Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth
